One needs to savor Back Bay. We didn’t rush around this neighborhood. We strolled, observed and savoured. As its’ name suggests this was once a bay which was filled in the 19th century creating this upscale neighborhood. Back Bay is known for its’ brownstones, trendy shopping streets, Copley Square lined with The Boston Public Library & Trinity Church, high rise buildings and hotels. Day trip to Salem from Boston by ferry
Over 42 years ago, at school, I read Arthur Miller’s The Crucible which left an indelible impression. So while in Boston was eager and curious to visit this New England town with its’ infamous history. I did a day trip to Salem from Boston solo. The other Gallivanting Goldie was busy at a Conference in Boston.

Canals, Van Gogh, Coffeeshops, Fried Chips, Cafes, Banksy, Bicycles, Cheese and Beer – we wandered around this vibrant city for 4 marvelous days.
Self Guided Walking Tour of Old Jaffa

For centuries Old Jaffa was the maritime gateway to Israel and Jerusalem – almost everyone who was anyone was here:-
The Prophet Jonah; The Egyptians; The Philistines; The Hasmoneans; The Romans; The Maccabees; The Muslims; The Crusaders; The Turks; The French; The British and of course The Israelis; Napoleon; Herzl; William II of Germany; Eichmann and yours truly.
Greek Mythology, Astrology and Tel Aviv’s own Robin Hood have also all been here!

The Canadian Rockies in The Summer – you just stare and stare and hope that you will remember the incredible beauty. The pristine turquoise of the lakes, the incredible height and dominance of the mountains, the glaciers still magnificent in spite of global warming and the bears!
